Last weekend @ SSM May 22nd 2011
This weekend we had a special service @ SSM (Saddleback Student Ministries) that focused on the theme of worship. We didn’t have a normal lesson/message/etc, but instead had interactive prayer/worship stations set up around our youth room. It was a super cool experience for our students!
Series: None. This weekend was what we call a “One Hit Wonder”.
Pre-Service: We had...

This weekend’s “THE OTHER 6” 5/15/2011
Here is this week’s ”THE OTHER 6” during week #2 of our church wide series entitled “How To Raise Your Parents”. ”THE OTHER 6”” is a simple way for students to spend time with God “the other 6 days of the week” that they’re not at church. Sure students have small groups where they get to study the Bible on a weekly basis, but “THE OTHER 6” is a way for them to journey deeper on their own about...

Relational Youth Ministry 101: Easy ideas to...
This past Sunday at SSM (Saddleback Student Ministries) I shared with my team about the next phase we will be focusing on in our student ministry, which is RELATIONAL YOUTH MINISTRY. AWESOME STUDENT OF THE WEEK GOES TO…..Vanessa! Vanessa is a student in our high school ministry at Saddleback Orange. We played a game at our weekend service yesterday entitled “minute to win it” where students competed to see who could place an oreo cookie on their foreheads and try to get it in their mouths without using their hands. Vanessa won the game, and here are the...

How Can We Get Our Students To Read The Bible?
Recently I read a study/poll on the percentage of Christians that actually read their Bibles on a daily basis. The findings were very disturbing. Here is a quote from that article:
“According to a recent Gallup poll, about six in ten Americans (59%) say they read the Bible at least on occasion, with the most likely readers being women, non-whites, older people, Republicans, and...

Last weekend @ SSM May 1st 2011
This weekend we did a one-hit-wonder message on who Jesus really is. The entire weekend was themed around the look/feel of FACEBOOK and we played with the idea of “what if Jesus tried to add you as a friend on FACEBOOK? Would you accept his “friend request” or would you have to do some more digging?
Series: “like” Jesus
Pre-Service: We had a ton of fun during this...
