5 Great Ideas To Try With Your Jr. High Small...
I just got back a few minutes ago from my weekly jr. high small group. And it was…AWESOME! It’s such a huge blessing to get the chance to disciple a group of teenagers through their journey of understanding who Jesus is and how they can live for Him. And let’s be honest…it’s just plain FUN to hang out with jr. high students. Here is a list of “5 Great Ideas To...

Youth Ministry Resource Highlight: "EVERNOTE"
Just yesterday I discovered an AWESOME tool that all of us can use as we lead our youth ministries. The application is called “EVERNOTE” and the idea is simple: every time you read a great blog post on youth ministry, leadership, program ideas or you are in a meeting and you happen to doodle something great on a napkin…EVERNOTE allows you to save all of those notes in different...

Saddleback Orange's Student Leadership Pathway
For the past few weeks I’ve been giving a lot of thought to the idea of student leadership. Having a solid student leadership team is essential in building a strong infrastructure for your youth ministry. Enlisting, equipping, empowering and encouraging your student leadership team is just as vital as pouring into your volunteer team within your youth ministry setting. This is a short...

When It Comes To Your Volunteers...BE A BARNABAS!
As I blogged about earlier last week, I really love working with a team. Youth ministry is so much better when you get to work collectively with a group of like minded youth workers to impact students lives for Christ in amazing ways. But how do you care for those volunteers/staff/leaders who work with you in your youth ministry? How can you help prevent volunteers from burnout, boredom and...

The power of a TEAM!
Last night my student ministries team and I met for our weekly “design” team meeting where we plan out our upcoming weekend series. I was so blown away by the power of a TEAM last night that I just had to post about it today.
Going into the meeting all we knew was this: We wanted the weekend to be themed around Jesus. That’s it. That’s what we were starting with. As our...

Youth Ministry Thought: Every student deserves to...
Today I had the chance to go out to lunch with a great youth worker by the name of Twigs Reed. Twigs serves as the director of YoungLife in Orange County (for more information on YoungLife click here). We spent a couple of hours just talking about what God is up to in our ministries and how we can better reach the students in our area with the Gospel.
But there was one thing that really stuck...
